Word association - Turkish buses?

If I said to you "Turkish buses", what images spring to mind? It would probably not be the following:
  • Clean modern bus stations with excellent food and shops
  • Brand new buses with individual TVs and headphones in every seat
  • 8 channels of live TV, including cartoons for the children
  • Wireless Internet
To provide a contrast: we were travelling across the Anatolian plateau from Nevshehir to Konya and I read an article on the Internet in the Scotsman where the question was whether the Glasgow-Edinburgh rail line should have full Internet connectivity. This is a 55 minute rail journey across the most densely populated part of Scotland, and while they are debating this, in a remote corner of Turkey I am accessing the article via the Internet on a bus!
